The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has given JAZZ the green light to trial BIP communication technologies. The PTA granted JAZZ provisional permission for trials in collaboration with BIP for an initial period of two months starting on March 15th, 2023. BIP is a free and user-friendly communication application that provides users with fast and secure messaging, high-quality voice and video calls, and more. It also offers channels such as food, sports, entertainment, and fashion, and has over 192 million users in different countries around the world.
JAZZ was allowed to trial the BIP application after it was granted security clearance. After receiving permission for trials, Jazz SIM will be linked with the BIP application. Other mobile phone operators have also been informed by the PTA about the JAZZ BIP application trials.
According to PTA officials, the trial permission for the BIP application was issued to JAZZ to promote technologies and improve indoor network access. In areas where mobile service is not available or the signal strength is poor, the user’s call will automatically be routed to Wi-Fi if there is a good internet connection.
The trials will be conducted on a non-exclusive and non-permanent basis, and calls will be made for JAZZ intra-network only. During trials, PTA protocols will be strictly adhered to, and special safeguards will be taken to protect DIRBS and other systems of PTA. All necessary precautions will be taken to ensure the safety and security of the systems.
