Minister of IT & Telecom, Syed Amin Ul Haque, recently led a delegation from MOITT to meet with the GSMA Asia Pacific leadership, led by Julian Gorman, in Barcelona during the sidelines of MWC bilateral meeting. The main focus of the meeting was to align policy priorities for 2023 and establish future collaborations between both parties.
During the meeting, Syed Amin Ul Haque briefed GSMA on the ongoing broadband projects in Pakistan’s un-served and under-served areas. He also discussed the Infrastructure and Spectrum sharing framework, which is expected to reduce operational costs for telcos in the country. The efforts made by MoITT to support the telecom industry were highly appreciated by GSMA, who also offered further support to enable digital and financial inclusion for all.
